Pink Beach is one of the tourist destinations in Komodo National Park which is administratively located in Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency. Pink Beach gets its name from the pink color of its sand derived from fine coral fragments then swept by the waves onto the beach, and mixed with white sand thereby displaying an exotic pink color. According to research by marine and fisheries experts. The fine coral growing around Pink Beach is produced by marine microbes called Foraminifera.
Pink Beach is also extremely rich in biodiversity where hundreds of species of coral and fish adorn the underwater landscape and making it a paradise for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts. In addition to its underwater beauty, Pink Beach also offers views of savanna plains and hills along with the small islands surrounding it. Almost every day, this beach is bustling with visitors and souvenir vendors from Komodo Village.The main tourist activities on this beach are snorkeling, diving and climbing on the savanna hills.
Tourists can visit Pink Beach by renting a motorboat from Labuan Bajo,Flores with a travel time of approximately 4 hours, for a faster journey tourists can rent a speedboat with a travel time of around 30 minutes. During the journey to Pink Beach Tourists will be treated to views of a fishing village and exotic small islands.
